The Broken Window Fallacy

It is scary to learn after the East Coast earth quake that occured recently that people and politicians believe that should the earth quake have been slightly more destructive that this event would have stimulated our sad economy.  Here is an interesting video that should shed some light on this concept and stimulate some debate. City council rejects gravel pit operation

There is good news for those of you that were concerned about the possible development of a gravel mining operation in the North Saskatchewan River valley. The proposal was rejected last night by a 7-6 vote by City Council on the issue .

The Westmount Community League was strongly opposed to the mining proposal and is pleased with the outcome of the City Council meeting on this issue.

Gardens, gardens, gardens. Three gardens.

Gardens are everywhere in Westmount!

Just to clear up some confusion that residents may have, there are three garden projects in Westmount, all with their own characteristics:
