Rogers Cell Tower

WCL Response to Rogers Letter

We the Residents of Westmount Edmonton have reviewed the letter from Rogers Communications that was written to answer our questions from the Cell Phone Tower Open House meeting. The reason we have chosen to write a response to this letter and send it to you is to show our dis-satisfaction with the responses to our questions.

Please see the attached PDF to read WCL letter.

This letter was sent to Laurie Hawn and Tony Clement back in June of this year. We continue to actively monitor the Rogers Cell phone tower proposal for new developments to this day.

Thank you to all of you who have voiced your concerns on this issue.

Mobile Cellular Tower in Westmount

Rogers Communications Inc. is planning to erect a 30m (98.5 feet) tall mobile cellular tower in the Westmount neighbourhood.
The location of the tower will be in the Groat Plaza Mall For more information, see http://rogerstower.wordpress.com.

Westmount Community League is opposed to the proposed location of this tower, and has suggested that a more appropriate location be found. See our letter to all three levels of government, and Rogers Communication.

Update: See the League’s latest letter to Rogers and Industry Canada, which provides an update on the community-wide opposition to the proposed location of the tower, including opposition from our MP, our MLA, our two schools’ parents associations, the hundreds who have signed petitions and joined a Facebook group, and the letter of non-concurrence from the City of Edmonton.
